My goal is to utilize over ten years of experience working with individuals and families in schools and community therapeutic settings and work with you find or rediscover your inner strength. We will accomplish this by developing a therapeutic relationship that allows you to feel safe and welcomed to explore your emotions and gain insight into the relationship between your thoughts, emotions, and actions. I successfully work with adults, adolescents, children, and families by utilizing evidence-based techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Mindfulness, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral (TF-CBT), and Eco-Systemic Family (ESFT) therapies. I implement these techniques and personalize and tailor them to your specific therapeutic journey so that you and your family can learn the skills needed to persevere over depression, anxiety, and trauma while also mastering interventions that can aid you in improving your communication and social skills. As we work together our goal will be for you to take what you learn in therapy and utilize it to develop a better understanding of yourself, and the world around you.
Taking the first step towards mental health treatment may be challenging as feelings of uncertainty, fear of confronting past traumas, or fear of the unknown may arise. Counseling should be collaborative, so my goal is to listen, challenge, work through, and support you as you work to achieve your mental health goals and alleviate stress. A trusting and authentic therapeutic relationship can be transformative, and I am committed to creating a safe and supportive space that allows you to discover those parts of you that may be traumatized, anxious, or depressed. I am a passionate and insightful mental health therapist with a dedication for advocating and encouraging radical healing. My therapeutic approach is based on the belief that radical healing allows for addressing the root causes of trauma, systematic oppression, and empowering individuals to build a more just future.
Through my lived experiences of mental well-being being disregarded, I intend to help others explore what they are feeling, why and how to cope with such challenges. With having those experiences, it has fueled my passion to further my knowledge to allow me to serve others who may be struggling with mental health. I have worked and continue to work with children, adolescents, young adults, and families using evidence-based skills such as integrative, emotion-focused, and holistic therapy throughout sessions. I believe that no two individuals are the same which allows me to tailor my approach to fit the specific needs and circumstances of each client making them feel whole and heard. I am here to walk alongside you, offering guidance and support as you explore your thoughts and feelings. I believe that everyone has the capability to lead a fulfilling life, and I am excited to be a part of your journey.
To be a LPC Intern at RCC is an honor that I am proud of. I’ve been committed to a life of service for over 30 years. More than 20 of those years have been dedicated to serving as a direct-service professional and various leadership roles in behavioral health, community-based settings, and youth & family services. I obtained a B.S. in Human Development & Family Studies, with a focus in Child Youth and Family Services from Pennsylvania State University. I also hold a M.S. in Organizational Psychology & Development from St. Joseph’s University. I currently attend Gwynedd Mercy University, pursuing an additional master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. My goal is to become a Licensed Professional Counselor focusing on Trauma & Crisis Response Treatment.
I live by my core values of FAITH, FAMILY & UNDERSTANDING. It is my Faith in God and fellowship in the Apostolic Faith where I draw my strength to overcome and conquer challenges. I value the strength and bond of the Family Unit. Family Services is where I’ve grounded my life’s work.
I believe that in all things, having an Understanding is principal, as it will keep and guide me into stronger and healthier outcomes. I look forward to a collaborative relationship with you as we journey to explore your path of resilience and healing of the mind and in each dimension of wellness.
My goal is to foster resilience, the ability to recover from adversity, within the individuals and families that I work with throughout the course of the therapeutic relationship. During our work together I utilize an integrative, evidenced-based approach which encompasses Cognitive-Behavioral (CBT), Mindfulness, and Eco-Systemic Family (ESFT) therapies. I provide a safe, supportive, and culturally competent environment for my clients to explore, heal from, and overcome anxiety, depression, trauma, unhealthy communication patterns, challenging behaviors, social skills deficits, and other behavioral, social, emotional and developmental challenges.
My personal experiences as a wife, and mother of three children, my professional experiences as the Associate Director of the Masters in Counseling Program at Arcadia University, a PA Dual Certified Educator, and training and work practicing Counseling as a Masters Level Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor, National Certified Counselor, and Licensed Behavior Specialist shape my work with clients. All of these pieces of my personal and professional journey help create a unique therapeutic perspective, and strengthen my ability to successfully provide mental health care to adults, adolescents, children, and families during their healing process.
