I received my Master's Degree in the field of School Counseling from West Chester University of Pennsylvania as well as a Bachelor's in psychology from the same university. Before becoming a Counselor I received an Associates's Degree from the Art Institute of Philadelphia and worked in the Culinary Arts field for 10 years. I love to spend time listening to books and consuming knowledge that can improve the lives of those I meet. In my free time, I enjoy going to church, spending time with family, and taking classes in boxing, MMA, and dance. I am committed to the encouragement, development, and success of all those I work with therapeutically. My goal is to guide you to be the best that you can be and achieve more than you thought possible.
It has been my passion to bring hope, encouragement, therapeutic knowledge and skills to the lives of men, women and families for their desired growth and goals for more than the past 25 years. As I walk along with you, I will employ evidence based techniques such as Reality Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness, Trauma Recovery Empowerment Model and others. The counseling will be tailored to strengthen and aid you and your specific needs and challenges. It will be my pleasure to serve you in your journey.
My goal is to foster resilience, the ability to recover from adversity, within the individuals and families that I work with throughout the course of the therapeutic relationship. During our work together I utilize an integrative, evidenced-based approach which encompasses Cognitive-Behavioral (CBT), Mindfulness, and Eco-Systemic Family (ESFT) therapies. I provide a safe, supportive, and culturally competent environment for my clients to explore, heal from, and overcome anxiety, depression, trauma, unhealthy communication patterns, challenging behaviors, social skills deficits, and other behavioral, social, emotional and developmental challenges.
My personal experiences as a wife, and mother of three children, my professional experiences as an PA Dual Certified Educator, and training and work practicing Counseling Psychology as a Masters Level Licensed Professional Mental Health Counselor, National Certified Counselor, and Licensed Behavior Specialist shape my work with clients. All of these pieces of my personal and professional journey help create a unique therapeutic perspective, and strengthen my ability to successfully provide mental health care to adults, adolescents, children, and families during their healing process.
